About us
About EcoStoof®: Flavorful, smart and sustainable cooking

At EcoStoof®, we believe that cooking is more than just preparing a meal; it is a moment of peace, care for your loved ones, and attention to the world around us.
Our mission is simple: we want to make the age-old tradition of slow cooking accessible to the modern kitchen. With the EcoStoof®, we pay tribute to a clever technique from the past, translated into a sustainable solution for the future.
The story behind EcoStoof®
EcoStoof® was founded from a shared passion of its founders Caro Niestijl and Iris van de Graaf. Together, they wanted to create a climate-friendly and responsible way of preparing food.
· Caro Niestijl: As an architect in energy-efficient building, Caro has many years of experience with insulation materials. This expertise inspired her to design a portable, modern, and aesthetic version of the classic hay box.
· Iris van de Graaf: As an engineer in eco-design and an expert in organic food, Iris brought the culinary side to life. She developed unique recipes that perfectly match the cooking technique of the EcoStoof®.
Sustainability in every detail

When designing the EcoStoof®, we make no concessions to the planet. We consciously choose materials with a low CO₂ footprint and reuse what is already there.
· Recycled materials: The filling of the EcoStoof® consists of recycled textiles and the lining is made of recycled felt.
· Biobased fabrics: We use natural linen and cork; materials that are renewable and contribute to a fair production process.
· Fairly handmade: Our products are manufactured in Europe by skilled craftsmen who work under good conditions for fair wages.
