Sustainable energy use in the spotlight
The EcoStoof® was created from a desire to make something sustainable, both for the climate and for the wallet. A product that is simply right from top to bottom. However, you can never achieve sustainability alone. One EcoStoof® is not enough, and neither are you on your own: we look around us and see more and more green initiatives emerging and growing. Today we want to highlight one of them: Vandebron, our favourite energy supplier.
While the EcoStoof® ensures you use as little energy as possible, Vandebron ensures that the energy you do use is 100% green. How wonderful would it be if all EcoStoves were filled with food prepared with 100% green energy? Doubly sustainable!

100% green energy without 'sjoemelstroom' (fraudulent green energy)
33 percent of all electricity produced in the Netherlands is green. Yet, 78% of Dutch households purchase green electricity. This is because some grey energy companies buy Guarantees of Origin (GvO) (Garantie van Oorsprong) certificates from abroad. With these guarantees, grey electricity can be sold as green without an energy company having to generate a single kilowatt-hour of green electricity for it. This 'green-washed' grey electricity is called 'sjoemelstroom' (fraudulent green energy). Not fair and not sustainable.
100% green electricity, as offered by Vandebron, is energy that is truly sustainably generated on Dutch soil. Want to be absolutely sure? You can even choose your own local producer of wind, bio, or solar energy through them. This way, you know 100% for sure where your energy comes from and where your money goes.

Step-by-step plan to get off gas
Are you interested in tips to make your household even more sustainable? Help with installing solar panels or insulation? You can also contact Vandebron. On their website, Vandebron has created a clear step-by-step plan for those (like us) who feel overwhelmed by the large number of options and variables: https://vandebron.nl/van-het-gas-af. This step-by-step plan is super handy and well-organised. However, we do think that at step 3 ('Electric cooking'), it should also be mentioned that you should put your food in the EcoStoof® as quickly and as much as possible!
Sharing is Caring
Making your home sustainable is like organising a good dinner party. You need the right ingredients: 100% green, local, and with a well-thought-out recipe. Then you invite your friends, family, or colleagues because the food tastes twice as good when you share it: sharing is caring. That's why we are happy to work with companies like Vandebron to make the Netherlands more and more sustainable.
